The Management of Innovation

Early in 2002 the Wales Management Council established an Innovation Working Group with the aim of identifying the 'secrets of innovation', to be disseminated widely as a means of helping businesses in Wales learn from each other.

This process was initiated by organising a workshop for Welsh entrepreneurs, which was held at Cardiff Business School.

The Working Group also defined a programme of further research involving in-depth interviews with Welsh companies, the majority of which were registered under the Welsh Development Agency's Commitment to Innovation scheme, to find their 'secrets of innovation'.

A report was launched on 4 March 2003 which summarised the findings of that research and provided advise on the practice of innovation, as a major contribution to action under Area 3, Better Equipping People to Innovate in 'Wales for Innovation'.
