Managerial Implications of E-commerce

E-commerce, in its various forms, has become a factor in the daily lives of thousands of managers across Wales. It is widely believed that the increasing use of electronic communications and trading has implications for virtually every aspect of the running of a business.

A Wales Management Council working group set out, by means of a structured survey, to establish who is implementing e-commerce, to what degree, what was their primary motivation and what impact has it had so far on their businesses. The survey sample covered a cross section of businesses from different sectors, of different sizes, varying degrees of profitability and with a broad geographical spread.
