Experienced Industry Duo Boosts Wales Management Council Team

Wales Management Council, has recruited two key industry figures as part of its continuing drive to boost management and leadership performance across the Welsh economy.

The employer-led body has appointed Steven Donnelly and Sian Rees as North Wales and South Wales Executives respectively. Their role will be to forge closer links between the organisation and businesses across all sectors.

Both have spent many years in senior positions with leading international manufacturing and technology companies, and have been responsible for a succession of multi-million pound change-management projects.

Sian, who specialises in information technology and people development, has held key posts with Honeywell Bull, Tandem Computers and Oracle . As an Oracle consultant she delivered major human resource programmes for international clients such as Kelloggs and Dell Computers.

She was European Education Programme Manager with Tandem and Manager of Oracle’s UK Change Management Practice, before spending periods as a partner with the Wilsher Group and running her own consultancy.

Steven moved into manufacturing after a 12-year career with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Since then he has played key training and management roles with a series of high profile firms including Ifor Williams Trailers of Cynwyd, Smurfit UK at Llangollen.

Most recently Steven was with international packaging giant Tetra Pak at Wrexham, where he was process change manager and subsequently manager of the capital equipment division.

He was responsible for multi-million capital equipment installations at plants throughout the UK.

Their appointments represent a significant strengthening of our organisation that will give us greater capacity to engage with businesses on the ground and ensure our strategies and recommendations are based solidly upon the realities of business life.”
