Who We Are

The Wales Management Council consists of prominent figures from industry, representatives of membership organisations for managers and directors, Higher Education Institutions, Further Education colleges, and the voluntary sector.

Details of the current members of the Council can be found by clicking the Council Members and Staff heading on the menu on the left hand side of this page.

Members are nominated and elected by the Council, and serve a three to five year term.

The Council meets as a body four times each year to discuss and agree the broad strategy for Wales Management Council activities.

Council Members bring a wealth of business experience and management development knowledge to these discussions. They ensure that all the Wales Management Council’s work is relevant to and reflects the needs of businesses and organisations in Wales, particularly smaller businesses which dominate out economic profile.

The Council is equally mindful of the importance of ensuring that the Wales Management Council’s activities are fully aligned with the Welsh Assembly Government’s economic development strategy, and to supporting strategies relating to entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, and partnership at work.

Representatives of the Welsh Assembly Government attend Council Meetings as observers.

The Council reviews the activities of the Wales Management Council via monthly reports from the Chief Executive on progress towards the objectives set out in the annual Business Plan.

The Council Members themselves play a key role as advocates and influencers of the broader strategy for management and leadership development in Wales.
